Dr. Paolo Giamundo is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at the Department of General,Oncologic and Minimally-Invasive Surgery at Policlinico di Monza, Monza, ITALY


He moved to Policinico di Monza after spending over 30 years at staff General Surgeon at the Hospital S. Spirito in Bra, Piemont, ITALY, where he has been leading the Colorectal Surgery Service from 2000 to 2018.


Dr, Giamundo spent one year as research fellow at The London Hospital, Whitechapel, London in 1990 and almost two years as Research Fellow at the Department of Colorectal Surgery of the Cleveland Clinic Florida in 2000 and 2001, being currently part of the Alumni group of the Cleveland Clinic.


He has been founder and part of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery (SICCR) in 2016 and he is member of the editorial Board of the American journal “Techniques in Coloproctology”


Since 2011, after passing the associated exam, he received the Fellowship of the European Society of Coloproctology (FEBSQ Coloproctology) and, in 2016 he was nominated “Honorary Fellow “ of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in London.


Since 2010 many of his interests have been focused in setting up new laser procedures in the field of Proctology as shown in his several studies and published papers in the field, 

Since 2011 he has been teaching laser procedures at several national and international courses including several live surgery sessions. In 2018 He also attended as Faculty the first international course of Coloproctology held at IRCAD Strasbourg.


He is Author of almost 100 peer reviewed papers with high impact factor.
