Dr. Simone Betchen is the Chief of Neuroscience at UHS Hospital in Binghamton, New York, where she oversees neurosurgery, neurology, stroke care, neuro-interventional procedures, and non-operative spine care. She joined UHS after a distinguished 17-year tenure as an attending neurosurgeon in Brooklyn, NY.

Since her arrival in Binghamton, Dr. Betchen has led her team to achieve significant milestones, including the hospital's Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center certification, Joint Commission Core Spine Accreditation, and the launch of a focused ultrasound program for essential tremor. She continues to practice as a full-time neurosurgeon, demonstrating a commitment to providing high-quality patient care across a wide range of neurological conditions.

In addition to her clinical and leadership roles, Dr. Betchen is an active member of several professional societies. Notably, she serves as the President-elect of the Association of Women Surgeons, where she is dedicated to advancing the representation and influence of women in the field. She is also an accomplished researcher, with numerous publications in reputable medical journals, further contributing to the advancement of neurosurgery and neuroscience.
