The second AIS event on Endocrine Surgery will be devoted to parathyroid gland handling during total thyroidectomy. To start with, the surgical panel will be presented, immediately followed by the streaming of a two live and simultaneous total thyroidectomy performed with a specific focus on parathyroid gland preservation. Faculty and viewers across the world will interact with the surgeons during the procedure, and a debriefing session between chairs and faculty will take place at the end of the meeting. Parathyroid gland management issues regarding to postoperative hypocalcemia and hypoparathyroidism will be discussed.
