Amanda Cooper, MD is an acute care and trauma surgeon at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where she has been faculty since 2014. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Medical School and the Indiana University General Surgery Residency. She is a former Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Program at Penn State and is the current Vice Chair of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Department. She also co-course directs both the Communications course and the first and second year Health Systems Sciences courses for the preclinical students at the Penn State College of Medicine. She has been a member of ASE since 2018 and is on the Graduate Surgical Education Committee, the Assessment, Curriculum, and Evaluation Committee, the Development Committee, and the DEI committee. She serves as the Chair of the DEI committee.
