Dr Ameera AlHasan is a senior specialist surgeon at Jaber Al-Ahmad Hospital in Kuwait, and practices general surgery, acute care surgery and colorectal surgery. She is Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course director and state faculty in Kuwait. She is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, fellow of the Asian Collaboration for Trauma and member of the Spanish Society for Surgical Research (SEIQ).

She is interested in scientific publication and is a member of the editorial boards of several prestigious journals including Surgery, the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and British Journal of Surgery Academy (BJS Academy). She is very active on social media and has created and lead the SoMe4Trauma educational community on both Twitter and Instagram.

She is currently a senior clinical fellow at the colorectal unit in Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London UK. She is very passionate about proctology, pelvic floor surgery, artificial intelligence and medical ethics. 

Dr AlHasan is multilingual and can converse in 8 languages.
