Amit Trivedi, MD, is a board certified surgeon at Advanced Laparoscopic Associates. Dr. Trivedi received his bachelor and medical degrees from SUNY Stony Brook University in New York, and completed his internship and residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). He completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Trivedi is the Chairman of the department of surgery at Hackensack University Medical Center at Pascack Valley and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. 

A pioneer in robotic surgery, Dr. Trivedi performed the first set of robotic surgeries in the United States using advanced augmented intelligence features in real time. He is the author of a textbook chapter on robotic hernia surgery and a journal article in Surgical Forum on hemorrhagic shock. He is an active lecturer, giving presentations around the country and the world, including Bermuda, California, Florida, New York, Japan and Sweden. 

Dr. Trivedi has been featured on The View (after he performed Rosie O’Donnell’s sleeve gastrectomy surgery) and The Dr. Oz Show to discuss bariatric and weight loss surgery.
