Beth H. Sutton, MD, FACS, has spent her career as a general surgeon in Wichita Falls, Texas. She participates in the call schedule for the level II trauma center and acute care surgery service at United Regional Health Care System, and is a past president of the medical staff. Dr. Sutton earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed a general surgery residency at Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. Since becoming an ACS Fellow, Dr. Sutton has served on multiple ACS committees, including the Committee on Healthcare Disparities, Committee on Professional Opportunities for Senior Members, Patient Safety Committee and Committee on Transition to Practice (Mastery of General Surgery). She is a faculty member for the ACS Surgeons as Leaders course. She has been President of the North Texas Chapter, a Governor-at-Large from North Texas and a member of the Board of Governors Executive Committee. She is a past Chair of the Board of Regents and currently President-Elect of the College. She has been Secretary and President of the Texas Surgical Society, President of the Association of Women Surgeons and a member of the AWS Foundation Board. She is a Director of the American Board of Surgery.
