Dr. Brandon Bruns is the Section Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern and the Trauma Medical Director at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Prior to joining the University of Texas, Dr. Bruns spent 7-years as faculty at the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore and 2 years as the Trauma Medical Director at the University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center.
Dr. Bruns’ primary clinical interests are in the areas of trauma and emergency general surgery. He is an active member of both the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) and The American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST). He is a previous member of EAST’s EAST4All and is a current member of the AAST’s DEI Committee.
Personally, Dr. Bruns is married and has twin daughters. His family resides in Dallas, Texas.
