Prof. Dr. Cosima Brucker is the Director of the University Department for Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Nuremberg General Hospital since 2005, and since 2014, she is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Paracelsus Medical University Nuremberg. In her previous position, she was Section Head and Professor for Gynaecologic Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine at University Women’s Hospital in Ulm from 1998-2004.
At her current position, Prof. Brucker is in charge of one of the largest Women’s University Hospitals in Europe. The Hospital offers the full range of obstetric and gynaecologic medical and surgical treatments. Over 4000 deliveries and over 5000 surgical procedures are performed under her guidance annually.
She completed the entire spectrum of subspecialty trainings in the field, including Specialized Gynaecologic Surgery, Gynaecologic Oncology, Gynaecologic Advanced Obstetrics and Perinatal Medicine, and Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine.
She is a board member of the German society for robotic surgery and serves as an expert to the German guideline development program. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed impact factored scientific journals.
Her main professional and scientific emphasis is on gynecologic benign and malignant surgery covering the entire spectrum of minimally invasive, vaginal and open surgery including ultra-radical multivisceral procedures. She has a special expertise in Robotic benign and malignant surgery. Furthermore, she is specialized in urogynecology covering the entire spectrum of surgical and non-surgical urogynecologic therapies.
Together with Prof. Dimitrios Bolovis she is founder of unilateral pectineal suspension, a revolutionary new technique for the surgical correction of pelvic organ prolapse.
