Dr. Dean Elterman is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Toronto, sub-specializing in functional urology.
As an attending urologist at the University Health Network (Toronto), his clinical and research interests include voiding dysfunction, novel technologies for BPH, sacral neuromodulation, male incontinence, and men’s health.
He trained at the University of Toronto, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical College. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research from Cornell.
He is the Medical Director of the Sexual Health Clinic at Princess Margaret Cancer Center and Fellowship Director for functional urology. He is the recipient of the 2022 SIU Innovators award, leads numerous clinical trials in BPH and neuromodulation, and has published over 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts including the lead author of the Canadian guidelines for Male LUTS/BPH.
He is the Associate Editor of European Urology Focus. He is an Associate Member of the European Association of Urology Section of Endourology and the European Association of Urology Section of Functional Urology.
