Dr. Emanuele Lo Menzo is a graduate of the University of Catania Medical School in Italy, where he also attained his Ph.D. in Clinical Microbiology. He completed his General Surgery training at Thomas Jefferson University and Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida.

Dr. Emanuele Lo Menzo is a Professor of Surgery, Vice Chairman Department of Surgery, Chair of Surgical Operations, and the Associate Program Director of General Surgery Residency at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Dr. Lo Menzo areas of clinical interest include minimally invasive and Bariatric Surgery, surgery of the esophagus and stomach and Abdominal wall hernias. 

From a research standpoint, he is currently the Regional Director of Research for the Digestive Disease Institute. He is the author or co-author of over 160 original articles, 440 Abstracts, and 50 book chapters.

Dr. Lo Menzo’s areas of interest include: Education of students, residents and fellows, clinical research in bariatric and metabolic surgery, foregut, and abdominal wall hernias, and the use of new technologies such as fluorescence-guided surgery.
