Gunda Leschber is the daughter of the chemist Reimar Leschber . From 1977 she studied medicine at the Freie Universität Berlin . In 1980/81 she was at the University of Tours . Approved in 1984 , she began her medical training in 1984/85 as an assistant doctor at the Institute for Pathology at the Neukölln Hospital . In 1985 she received her Dr. medical PhD. This was followed by two surgical stations at Tufts University and at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Boston . From 1988 to 1994 she was a surgical assistant doctor at the University Hospital in Düsseldorf and at the University Hospital in BerlinSankt Gertrauden Hospital . At the Heckeshorn Pulmonary Clinic, she specialized in thoracic surgery . In 1997, after three years, she went to the Hemer Pulmonary Clinic as Senior Physician . In 2003, the Evangelische Lung Clinic in Berlin chose her as chief physician in the clinic for thoracic surgery. She was the first chief physician for thoracic surgery in Germany and the only one for twelve years. In 2021 she retired.
