Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (1989). Completed the Residency Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology (1990-94) at Bellvitge University Hospital.
Awarded a Doctorate in Medicine in 1998 and honored with the Nubiola Prize in 1999 by the Academy of Medical Sciences of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. Completed the Master in Integrated Health Services Management at ESADE Business School (DSIS 2003-04 and EMDOS/EMHOL 2014-15) with a training period at Georgetown University (Washington, USA). Serves on the Boards of several national and international scientific societies and has been responsible for the robotic surgery innovation line at IDIBELL since 2009. He is the director and coordinator of the International Course in Gynecological Surgery at Bellvitge University Hospital and an Associate Professor at the University of Barcelona.
His professional development focuses on the field of gynecologic oncology, and he served as the local president of the annual congress of the European Society of Gynecologic Oncology in Barcelona 2023. He is an expert in the development of advanced endoscopic techniques and has undergone training abroad in countries such as France, London, and Arizona, collaborating with Prof. Xavier Magriña (Mayo Clinic) for the recent implementation of robotic surgery.
A highly effective scientific communicator, he has delivered over 300 presentations at national and international conferences and has authored numerous informative contributions in health journals, women's health publications, and general and specialized press.
In December 2023, he was honored with the title of honorary member of the Catalan Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (SCOG) for his significant contribution to the development of minimally invasive surgery. Additionally, he serves as a Proctor for the three most impactful robotic platforms today, namely Intuitive, Medtronic, and CMR.
