Dr. Juan Carlos Patrón Uriburu is an Argentine surgeon specialized in colorectal surgery. He graduated from the National University of Tucuman School of Medicine in 1993 and later went on to pursue fellowships in colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida and the British Hospital of Buenos Aires.
He is board certified by the Argentine Association of Surgery and the Argentine Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is also a member of the Argentine Association of Surgery, the Argentine Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery, the Argentine Academy of Surgery, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the European Society of Coloproctology, and the Cleveland Clinic Alumni Association.In addition to his work in the medical field, Dr. Patrón is also an associated professor of surgery at the National University of Medicine and the Catholic University of Medicine in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is also a member of the review boards of the Revista Argentina de Cirugía, Colorectal Diseases, and EC Gastroenterology and Digestive System. He is also a consultant for the Argentine Journal of Coloproctology.
His special interests include colon and rectal cancer, minimal invasive approach, colonoscopy, diverticular diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases, rectal prolapse, and functional disorders. He is also the Director of the International Colorectal Course of the British Hospital since 2017. Dr. Patrón Uriburu has received several awards, including “Mejora en la terapéutica del cáncer de recto bajo mediante cirugía laparoscópica y enfoque multidisciplinario” from Qualitas in 2013. He has also authored several book chapters and publications.
