Dr. Juan I. Martínez-Salamanca has a degree in Medicine and is a specialist in Urology from the Hospital Universitario Gregorio Marañón. Since 2007 he has been the urologist in charge of the Andrology Unit at the Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro Majadahonda in Madrid. He is founder and Medical Director of Lyx Instituto de Urología and head of the Urology Service at the private Hospital Virgen del Mar and Vithas Pardo de Aravaca in Madrid.
His main areas of expertise are Prostatic Pathology, being an expert in the diagnosis and comprehensive approach to prostate cancer, as well as Andrology and Sexual Medicine, with special emphasis on the treatment of Peyronie's disease and penile prosthesis surgery. Fellowship of the European Board of Urology and the European Board of Sexual Medicine, he is Doctor in Medicine and Surgery with European Mention and Extraordinary Prize by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In addition, he has completed his training in the United States, at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Medical College at Cornell University.
He has a special interest in teaching and research, being a regular speaker and moderator of national and international congresses, editor in chief of the International Journal of Andrology and director of multiple courses for continuing medical education.
