Dr. Luqman Mazlan is a Consultant Colorectal & General Surgeon at Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Beacon Hospital Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. He is currently the President of the Malaysian Society of Colorectal Surgeons, Vice President of the Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Society of Malaysia, Council Member of the European Society of Coloproctology Global Reach Committee and Committee Member of the Colorectal Cancer Survivorship Society Malaysia. He was formerly a senior lecturer and head of the unit of colorectal surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Malaysia. Dr. Luqman graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia and completed his general surgical training at the National University Malaysia Hospital in 2010. He then underwent fellowship training under the Malaysian Board of Colorectal Surgery Training Program with clinical attachments in Malaysia and at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, Australia in 2014. He has a special interest in recurrent and locally invasive colorectal cancers, pelvic exenteration surgery and minimally invasive colorectal surgery. Dr Luqman has multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and is involved in many international trials, research and educational activities related to colorectal surgery and clinical nutrition.
