Dr. Martha Quiodettis stands as a distinguished Trauma Surgeon, holding the pivotal position of overseeing the Trauma Service at Hospital Santo Tomás in  Panama City, Panamá. Her journey in the field of medicine began with the completion of her General Surgery degree at the same institution in 2005.  Following a dedicated tenure as staff at Hospital Santo Tomas, she embarked on a transformative phase in her career by relocating to Miami in 2009.   Dr. Quiodettis pursued and successfully completed her Trauma and Surgical  Critical Care Fellowship at Ryder Trauma Center, Jackson Memorial Hospital,  University of Miami.  

A beacon of leadership in her domain, Dr. Quiodettis currently holds the esteemed position of President of the Panamanian Trauma Society. She is also recognized as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has played integral roles within the Panamerican Trauma Society since 2014.  As a prolific author, Dr. Quiodettis has contributed to the scientific community with published papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Her passion for advancing the field extends to fostering the engagement of surgical residents in research projects and international presentations.  

Notably, Dr. Quiodettis initiated a groundbreaking hospital-based electronic trauma registry, garnering support from the Panamerican Trauma Society. Her commitment to global collaboration is evident through the facilitation of international rotations in Trauma Surgery Service for surgical residents and fellows from Spain, Germany, Peru, and the United States at Hospital Santo  Tomás.  

Adding another feather to her cap, Dr. Quiodettis serves as an occasional editor of the Panamerican Journal of Trauma, Critical Care & Emergency Surgery.  Beyond her editorial responsibilities, she extends her expertise as an ACLS and  BLS instructor at the Regional Center for Health Training and Simulation  (CREASS-Panamá). Dr. Quiodettis has also contributed her skills as an instructor in DSTC courses in Spain. Dr Quiodettis is the elected president of The  Panamerican Trauma Society for the 2024-2025 period.
