Dr. Michael Awad, MD, PhD, MHPE, FACS, is a surgeon and educator specializing in foregut surgery, particularly procedures involving the esophagus and stomach. He currently serves as the Immediate Past-President of the Association for Surgical Education and holds the position of Professor of Surgery at BJC HealthCare. Additionally, he directs the Robotic Surgery program at BJC HealthCare and oversees the Washington University Institute for Surgical Education (WISE) and the WISE Simulation Fellowship at the Washington University School of Medicine, USA.

Dr. Awad is experienced in various surgical techniques, including laparoscopic, robotic, endoscopic, and incision-less procedures.
