Dr. Congregado was also a Professor of the Master's program in Videothoracoscopic Surgery at IAVANTE (Health Division of the Andalusian Government, Spain) and made significant contributions to numerous meetings and congresses on Thoracic Surgery worldwide, with over 70 presentations and talks.
Regarding the subject of this event, he developed a fully video-assisted thoracoscopic technique for first rib extirpation to treat Thoracic Outlet Syndrome in 2010. He published his innovative technique in 2011, which was one of the earliest instances of this type of surgery being documented. Since then, he has dedicated a significant portion of his time to researching and treating this disease, authoring four book chapters on the surgical management of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
He is an active member of several thoracic associations and societies. Presently, he serves as the vice-president of the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery (SECT), represents Spain as a Regent in the European Society of Thoracic Surgery (ESTS), and holds the role of Institutional Coordinator for the Spanish Register of Thoracic Surgery.
