Dr. Oriol Angerri is the Head of the Lithiasis Unit in Fundacio Puigvert.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and specialized in urology at the Fundació Puigvert. With over 15 years of experience as a urologist, he has extensive training in various fields within the specialty. Dr. Angerri has been awarded several scholarships for his academic achievements, which have allowed him to undertake training periods at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and the Department of Urology at the University of Miami in the United States.
Throughout his career, he has combined clinical practice with scientific activity, actively contributing to various research projects. He has also served as a speaker at numerous national and international urology congresses and scientific meetings, presenting over 250 papers, some of which have received awards. Additionally, he has authored more than 70 scientific publications and co-authored chapters in textbooks on the specialty.
His areas of interest and specialization include endourology and laparoscopic surgery: percutaneous nephrolithotomy, semi-rigid and flexible ureteroscopy treated with Holmium laser, laparoscopic radical nephrectomy and Thulium laser, and bipolar TURP for BPH, among other urological pathologies and procedures. He has performed over 5,000 surgical procedures, ranging from simple ones such as circumcision or vasectomy to more complex ones such as live donor transplantation.
