Dr. Peige Zhou completed her Medical Degree and Surgical Residency training at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Her academic interests focus on medical education and curriculum development. She completed a teaching distinction track during her medical training which included serving on Clinical Experiences committee, working as a teaching assistant, and assisting with development of the new medical school curriculum. Throughout residency, she continued to serve as a resident liaison for the medical student surgical clerkship and as a strong advocate for resident experience as her position of administrative chief during her final year of residency. She then completed her colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida.  

She is currently junior faculty member and working on developing a junior residency colon and rectum surgery introductory curriculum and coordinating skills training sessions for colon and rectum surgery fellows. Her research interests focus on colon and rectum surgery as well as surgical education with 10 current publications and multiple oral and poster presentations at national meetings.
