Dr. Rory Tippit MD is a retired military medical leader with 21 years of service in the US Army where he served as a Medical Officer and United Nations Task Force Commander. He currently serves as a Physician Executive overseeing medical affairs activities in North and South America for Baxter’s Advanced Surgery Division.

In 2013 Rory Tippit Co-founded the Cooper Military Trauma Readiness Program (MTRP) with Trauma Surgeon, Dr/COL John Chovanes. This program allows healthcare providers from the military and other federal agencies the opportunity to train in a fast-paced civilian urban Level 1 Trauma Center, thereby maintaining their Trauma and Surgical Critical Care skills for when needed in combat. In 2016 Rory co-founded the Cooper Hospital, Special Operations Trauma Training Center (SOTT-C) and since that time he has trained hundreds Special Operations medics in the Trauma Surgical environment.

Dr. Tippit joined Baxter in 2020 as the Global Medical Director. His outstanding leadership and medical expertise have earned him numerous awards and honors, including the Order of Military Medical Merit, Meritorious Service Medals, and the Army and Air Force commendation medals, the Marquis ‘Who’s Who in the Americas”, among others.

He received his Medical Doctorate from University of Science Arts and Technology, is a graduate from The Kennet School of Business (Berkshire, England), the US Army Flight Surgeon program and received both Bachelors and Masters in Science degrees from the University of Nebraska. Rory practiced Trauma Surgery for 7 years at Cooper University Hospital in Camden , NJ.
