Since the description of the first vaginal hysterectomy in 1813, the surgical technique has experienced minor advancements compared to the associated technology for the same procedure. These advancements allow us to perform this surgery in a more precise, efficient, and safe manner for patients. Despite a slight trend towards a reduction in its performance, in the United States, it remains the most frequent surgery among the female population. That is why it requires proper learning and standardization of surgical steps, which we will explain in detail.
Not only that, but we will also teach different techniques for the same surgical step, which will provide us with additional surgical resources to apply in a more personalized manner.
This lecture is recommended, from surgeons in training who can familiarize themselves with the anatomical spaces,, to advanced surgeons who may find certain surgical maneuvers performed using robotic surgery interesting.
