The Italian Society of Colorectal Surgery (SICCR) is a scientific organization that deals with illnesses of the colon, rectum and anus.

The SICCR promotes and supports scientific research in all the clinical and biological aspects of diseases of coloproctology, in the belief that scientific progress is the essential condition for the achievement of therapeutic objectives. Prof. Salvatore Pucciarelli Professor Salvatore Pucciarelli qualified from University of Padua in 1978. His postgraduate training was at St Mark’s Hospital and at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, USA. He was promoted as Full Professor of Surgery at University of Padua in 2017.He specializes in colorectal cancer surgery. Professor Pucciarelli and his team are internationally respected for their work in advanced rectal/anal cancer.He has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles in medical journals and contributed to several books. Dr. Francesco Cantarella Dr. Francesco Cantarella received his residency "cum laude" in General Surgery from the University of Perugia in 2013. He performs Screening and Treatment of HPV related Pre-cancerous Anal Lesions. In 2017, he obtained the degree of Doctor of Research (PhD) at the University of Perugia. He is Tutor for teaching the Technique of "Doppler-assisted hemorrhoidal devascularization and rectal anal repair (DG HAL RAR - TRILOGY).
He is a lecturer for the School of Rehabilitation of Defecation Disorders within the Italian Society of Colo-Rectal Surgery (SICCR). He did a period in Athens as Tutor for teaching the use of Laser (Eufoton MedicaLasers) in Proctological Interventions for the treatment of anal fistulas, pilonidal cysts, hemorrhoidal disease and genital condylomatosis. A Tutor for the Eufoton Company for Proctologic Laser Surgery, he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeon (FACS).
He has participated in numerous congresses and courses pertaining to the proctologic pathologies he deals with, and is Co-Head of the Proctologic and Perineologic Center of Private Hospitals Forli.
