AIS Channel has proven that it is a cutting-edge and disruptive platform many times. A clear example of its innovative nature is the fact that is has been nominated for the CaixaBank 21st Century Entrepreneurs awards (Premios EmprendedoresXXI). These awards, now on their 10th year, recognize those recently created innovative businesses with the largest growth potential, and are regarded as the main awards to start-ups in Spain. In previous years, companies from very different fields, including fashion design, legal and technological counseling on copyright and intellectual property, and synthetic bone graft design, have won these awards.

AIS Channel was selected as one of the 6 regional finalists, finishing third. Our platform was selected from among 600 candidates due to its contribution to the surgical field, bringing the most advanced bariatric and colorectal techniques closer to surgeons all around the world, completely free of charge. The jury was very interested in the rapid growth of our community, reaching more than 20,000 colorectal and bariatric surgeons in over 200 countries in little over 2 years, and even more in our live surgery events. They agreed that these opportunities contribute to sharing the surgical knowledge on a global scale. Additionally, AIS Channel will be taking part as one of the 6 finalists in the digital section at the national contest in November.

During the awards ceremony at Caixa Forum in Barcelona (Spain), a renowned mountaineer, Araceli Segarra, described her experience as an example of achievement, hard work and persistence, qualities which every entrepreneur should embrace. Each of the six finalists presented their business to the judging panel, explaining their goals and objectives, their history, and their possibilities of expansion in the near future. Then the jury and the CaixaBank representatives presented the winners and finalists with their awards. This year’s winner was Signaturit, a digital platform for management of digital signatures in e-commerce.
