Many surgeons are following the TaTME Cecil approach as the treatment of choice for rectal cancer. The transanal approach has been proven to be an excellent technique for dealing with a narrow male pelvis or bulky tumors.

This emerging technique is becoming a hot topic in many surgical forums, as was demonstrated last week, when AIS Channel and Dr Antonio Lacy took active part in the XXIVè Symposium International de Chirurgie Laparoscopique (Paris, France) and in the International Colorectal Disease Symposium 2017 cum 3rd Asia-Pacific Colorectal Cancer Congress (Hong Kong, China).

The meeting of the French Society of Endoscopic Surgery (SFCE) brought together both French and international experts in many surgical fields, from colorectal to pancreatic and gastric surgery. The latest trends in surgical innovation and cutting-edge surgical evidence in many fields were discussed. Dr Antonio Lacy participated as the Honorary President of the meeting.

The ICDS2017 x 3rd APCCC brings together in Hong Kong international experts on colorectal surgery. High quality lectures were given by Dr Steven Wexner, Dr Marina Berho, Dr William Chen and Dr Antonio Lacy among others. Various topics, from standardization of techniques and teaching to anastomotic leaks and pathology assessment, were discussed.

In our mission to provide high quality surgical education all over the world, AIS Channel will soon be publishing the lectures given in these meetings.
