In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the incidence of periprosthetic fractures. Life expectancy increases and with it fractures in patients with hip and knee prostheses, who continue to enjoy a good quality of life and for whom it is important to minimize the convalescence period.
In the following video we present an excellent solution to periprosthetic hip fractures of the Vancouver B1 type. With this fixation with a specific percutaneous plate for periprosthetic fractures, we manage to minimize the aggression and guarantee a good fixation and stability in the fracture that allows us to carry out rehabilitation and early load after surgery.
The improvement and constant evolution in the osteosynthesis systems makes it easier for us to manage this type of fractures, which are expected to continue increasing.
