Posted in Debates on 24 November 2015

On 20 November, from 2 pm to 6 pm (UTC+01), AIS Channel broadcast live the 8th AIS Congress, in which cutting-edge medical and surgical topics regarding gastric bypass were discussed.

As a new development, on 19 and 24 November, we will be posting on AIS Society a number of questions about the topics that were discussed in the conference, so that you can give us your views before and after the debate that was held on 20 November.

Gastric Bypass is a treatment currently established for morbid obesity. It is regarded as the gold standard in obesity surgery, as it achieves satisfactory results in 95% of patients.

In this meeting, we analyzed live a laparoscopic gastric bypass through a live surgery of a diabetic morbid obese patient, describing the technical details and the potential dangers of the procedure while it is performed.

In addition, a group of leading experts discussed the main knowledge of interest regarding this procedure and the various associated endocrine aspects.

Interact, ask questions, and spread your knowledge through AIS Channel.
